Went back to camp despite my off day. rahh to attend some talks, one of which invited a motivation speaker(hmm air force rich ah) the speaker's theme was Excellence. he gave quite a few good pointer which are mainly self-improvement then came a assignment. The task was each team-member is to write a word from a list of sentences. Then he asked us, whether are we proud of our work?(it was mainly to-get it done asap mentality) Then he told us to re-do the assignment this time with a new sheet of paper. So before me and my team start to write.. I told them, to look around and first. We sat Caregroup style and I told them "Let's be unique from the rest!" Instead of use writing the neatest we do a mind map from the sentence given, I will start first.."Excellence" wrote on the centre of the big paper given(arrow) is never an accident(draw out car banging on someone). It turns out that our piece of paper came out tops among the rest. yeah! At the end of his speech, while I and my friends were packing up, he walked from the front to where I was and tore a piece of his note and handed to me.
I was stunned*Huh*(not to boast) "study it well, you have a bright future." One of the two big pointers was as a leader(which he circled) 1.commitment 2.self discovery 3.discipline
Hmm..Spirit of excellence reminds me of what Matt25:14 The parable of the talents. Am I serving God and the church like a few of those army NSF who can't be bothered or jus get the job done mentality? Thinking. we are serving a God that sees the unseen and nothing is hidden from His sight. So "We are the change!" and salt in this world.
